I got interested in Elvis around 1976 when my parents moved into a new house, I was 10 at the time. Our neighbors were Elvis fans, and one day while I was playing with their sons in their house, they played a record called Elvis sings Flaming Star and other (the Camden release) and I was intrigued about this singer with the cowboy hat on the cover. I had heard of Hound Dog and Don’t be Cruel, but did not know this was the same person. The song that really impressed me was Tiger Man at the end, hearing the girls screaming. Then I asked my parents to buy me Elvis records for my birthday and Christmas.

Following his death in 1977, the record stores were full of his records, and I just kept getting records. That is how it started for me.

It’s hard to say which collection is my favorite, but I would say my US vinyl collection. I have most of the originals, with the correct inner sleeves, shrink advertising the bonus photo and bonus photos. Some of my favorites have the original price tag as well. But then I love my movie pressbooks as well, so it’s hard to say.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Best, Jules Thibault
