This is my collection of Las Vegas Now magazines featuring Elvis on the covers. These magazines were given out free, or for 25 cents, at several hotels. They would have one article on a Vegas personality and show all the attractions at the different hotels.
It’s great to see all the stars that appeared at that time.
The first photo shows the first part of my collection:
The green cover from August 20, 1971 still had the International logo on top.
Next is the blue cover from February 23, 1973.
The light green cover is from August 4, 1972
The red covers are from February 8, 1974 and March 21, 1975 with the 7th Year starburst on the cover.
Finally the blue one from Elvis last engagement dated December 3, 1976 with the 9th Year starburst on the cover.
The new arrivals of my collection are great:
The purple cover is from August 13, 1971 and does not show any hotel logo, just ‘Las Vegas’ with a 25 cent price. The back cover has a map of Las Vegas at that time. It’s great to see how many hotels had golf courses at that time.
The blue cover is from August 18, 1973.
The yellow cover is from August 30, 1974 and the spotlight article at the beginning is of Elvis.
The final one, light green is from December 12, 1975 with the 8th Year starburst on the cover.
These are the insides of some of the magazines to show you what they look like, and all the stars that appeared in Vegas when Elvis performed there.
There are many others on my wish list, but these are the ones I do not have (and wish I did):
From August 1969 (blue), from August 1970 (2 red and 2 purple), from February 1971 (2 yellow) and finally from August 22, 1975 (red one) that season was cut short after only 5 shows due to illness.
Finally, others that I would like to have as well, that I do not have.
From January 1972 (pink), September 1972 (turquoise), February 1973 (light green), February 1974 (light blue), August 1974 (dark green) and December 1975 (pink).
