RCA Execs and Parker wanted a new Christmas Album, but Elvis wanted to record a sacred album.

Album’s Artwork Mock-up sheets had use photos from the August Photo shoot, but didn’t see any artwork sheets for the Reel-to-Reel and Cartridge Magazine Loading tapes, only notes, “include on tapes”.

Elvis recorded the entire His Hand in Mine album the night of October 30, finishing in the early morning hours of October 31, 1960. Amazingly, the album was in stores within a month – rushed to have it ready for the Christmas season. RCA released His Hand in Mine in both Mono and Stereo formats.

His Hand in Mine was release on Reel-to-Reel tape, but not on Cartridge Magazine Loading tape.

No notes why, the Reel-to-Reel tape’s artwork was different than the album’s artwork and wasn’t released until 1965…

RCA’s Recording Information Session Logs shows P8S-1136 and P8S-5052 Stereo 8 Track Cartridge tapes. RCA didn’t release Stereo 8 Track Cartridge tapes until 1965/1966.

Most of the Session Logs got updated and pulled on several occasions with release dates for the Stereo 8 Track Cartridge tapes.
