The presentation took place on Sunday afternoon, March 1, 1970, following Elvis’ final performance at the Astrodome. The event was held during a press conference in Houston, Texas.

RCA Vice-President Rocco Loginestra served as the presenter for the occasion.

Gold Record Awards were received for both Singles and Albums:

Singles: “In the Ghetto,” “Suspicious Minds,” and “Don’t Cry Daddy”

Albums: From Elvis in Memphis and From Memphis to Vegas/From Vegas to Memphis (live album recorded at the International Hotel).
