47-6420 (45) Heartbreak Hotel / I Was The One Release: 1956 January 27th.

The first photo sleeve released by RCA for this record was in 1964 (447-0605), there was not a photo sleeve for the original release, but a generic RCA sleeve.

This is the record that established Elvis. It is responsible for selling well over a million copies and charting nationally on no less than three charts. Reaching #1 on both country and Pop charts and #3 on the Rhythm and blues charts. What more can be said for Elvis’ very first record for RCA Victor. The five Sun records were re-released by RCA in December 1955.
